IF: Cracked

I think my bunny-friend is in trouble, now he cracked the window of our neighbour...

This week's topic for IF: cracked

They are here!

Yesterday evening I went to pick up my new hamsters: the Roborovskii's. Two sisters, born on April 2nd. I've named them Ayala and Seska.
The first thing they did, was discovering the cage and everything in it. A sandbath was popular as well.

Triptych of cat Xiam

Yesterday I finished a triptych of cat Xiam, which I was commissioned to do. It was a lot of work - three portraits of the same cat but I am very pleased with the results!

pastel, format: 3x A4

IF: Contagious

What I find very contagious is yawning... even thinking about this subject make me yawn. Are you yawning already? This bear and his bunny-friend can't stop yawning.

Goodbye Vala

It's going so fast: the second one in such a short time has left me.
This time it is Vala who left me. She came to live with us just about a year ago and she was only 4 weeks old. She had a special color: a black Russian - with these tiny, cute white paws and some white under her chin. Her nickname was "my little mole".

She never grew to be a big hamster, like all the others, and she was fast - so fast that I hardly have pictures of her! And now, I had to bury her again.

Goodbye litte Vala...

IF: Hierarchy

Hierarchy can be explained in several ways, I found these in the dictionary:

"any system of persons or things rankes one above another"
"a series of which each element is graded or ranked"

and this reminded me of a drawing I made a few months ago: parrot Tequilla loves to play with these wooden blocks and knows exactly in what order to put them back - in the right hierarchy.

New materials

Yesterday I had a day off so I went to the store to spoil myself and buy me some new materials. I found some great pastels (Conté and FaberCastell) to add to my soft-pastel collection. With these harder pastels I can draw the finer details, such as fur etc. This weekend I'll try them out, I am working on a three-piece of cats (portraits).
