IF: Atmosphere

"During a total solar eclipse, the photosphere of the Sun is obscured, revealing its atmosphere's other layers. Observed during eclipse, the sun's chromosphere appears (briefly) as a thin pinkish arc, and its corona is seen as a tufted halo. The same phenomenon in eclipsing binaries can make the chromosphere of giant stars visible." [source: Wikipedia]

In 2006 my husband and I went to Turkey to experience a full eclips. It was magical to witness such an event and my husband made beautiful pictures. The most beautiful part is when the full eclips is over, just at that moment that a tiny-tiny-tiny piece of sun peeps from behind the moon - wow!
