Practice, practice, practice

A few weeks ago I started with botanical illustrations in a more serious way. I had this book for some time now and never gotten to it to start. After reading the first paragraphs, watching other peoples drawings and getting some advice from great artists in this field, I started my first drawings - not in color, but start with pencil drawings.

  5. I like your Japanese maple leaf. Very nice! You included a lot of details.
A book can be helpful to practice. It can give a lot of inspiration.

  7. Geweldig, Brigitte! You are so wise to start with the graphite to understand form and to look at the details. That pear is wonderful but like Teri said, that Maple leaf is stunning! I think you'll do very well ;)
