ATC Page (and a visitor)

I love working on ATCs! In a reasonably short period of time, I can put a furry portrait on this small piece of paper - and in exchange I get some beautiful art from other artists around the world!

This time I did a portrait of Page (referencephoto by Daisyree Bakker) and it will be traded with this wonderful horse. Page is now on his way to Finland!

Last weekend I did some 'wildlife' shooting in our own backyard and I managed to get this boy/girl photographed.

Butterfly

I visited the Orchid- and Butterfly Gardens this weekend. Made lots of photos, this is the most extraordinary butterfly I saw. After research on the internet, I found out it is called the 'Glasswing butterfly' - an appropriate name.

Animal Wednesday: autumn colors

Last weekend, the weather was so beautiful - blue sky, sunny - we went to a forest for a walk. We saw many mushrooms, and of course the famous red-with-white-dots (no gnomes were at home). We took a lot of pictures, in this slide show just a small selection.

And what has this to do with Animal Wednesday? In de last picture you'll see some bees harvesting the last pollen before the winter starts.

Enjoy and HAW!

IF and AW: Spider Acrobat

Today a 'double' entry: for Illustration Friday AND Animal Wednesday!
Last week I was taking a walk and between the tops of a large bush I saw this spider, building his web. Although I am not too fond of spiders, I was impressed by the way they create webs in the most difficult places - they are truly acrobats.

IF: Star Gazing

I have something with ladybugs... they are such adorable creatures. So I thought of a setting with two of them, star gazing and wondering what the next day will bring.

Animal Wednesday: Cows and spiders

Last weekend I went, with my best friend, to a national election for cows: the most beautiful cows are shown and the best wins! This day was only for dairy cows.

I've never been to such an event before and I loved seeing all those different cows. Check out the slide show of just a selection of all the pictures I took that day:

And this picture, I took yesterday morning. In our front yard I saw this strange spiderweb (unusual in the Netherlands) and when I looked closer, I saw it was a spiders home.

Happy Animal Wednesday!

Animal Wednesday: ladybug

Every winter ladybugs stay in hidden places in our attic to survive from the cold. In spring, when the temperatures are rising, they all come out and we have dozens of these cute little creatures on our window - trying to go out.
Me and my husband are helping them: catching the ladybugs and put them outside, where they belong.

IF: Flying

According to the laws of physics (as far as we know them), the bumblebee is not able to fly. But they don't know, so they keep on flying.
